Modern Business Administration [Paperback] Robert C. Appleby (Author)

I purchased this book to teach business administration at one of the universities, and it really help. The price was so low due to being used book, but I got it brand new. Very good book.

This review is from: Modern Business Administration (Paperback)
This book is a very hot B.A student book in business colleges. Published by Pitman Publishing, it arrived its 6th edition uptill now.
The author covers every the most important aspects in modern business administration life.
I read its 5th edition in 1995, when I was in college. It's my startup book for my concurrent career as a business consultant. I am not really sure if the author has plan to update its content recently, as we know that business environment changes violently nowadays. Hope we can read its 7th edition soon.

Business by William M. Pride (Author), Robert J. Hughes (Author), Jack R. Kapoor (Author)

From the very first page I was intrigued and compelled to continue reading.
Many business books are boring, dry, and more effective than Valium for putting me to sleep.
Not this book! I highly recommend this excellent business book.

Complete MBA For Dummies

I have an official size-and-weight MBA from a respected University, and would advise educators to have every high-school student read and discuss Complete MBA for Dummies before graduation.
The facts are simple; the lessons clear and applicable. A good, common-sense approach to reality.

The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business

I went to college and got a business degree, and was offered the opportunity to get a more advanced degree. I turned it down for several reasons:
1. College is super expensive.
2. Nobody seemed to care that I got my first degree.
3. I was getting A's, yet not learning anything and getting bored out of my mind. As someone who reads several business books a month, I've had a chance to peruse a lot of helpful material.
On the top of the pile sits the Personal MBA. Kaufman makes a clear argument for personal education, which is everyone's responsibility regardless of whether they are in college or not. From there, he discusses all the major points he has found up to the point of publishing this book that have helped shape his thoughts and become more productive in the corporate and self-employed environments. If you like reading and hate the fact that you can buy only one book to get all this great material, he includes a list of other useful business books so you can keep studying whatever you like.

Business for Beginners: From Research and Business Plans to Money, Marketing and the Law (Quick Start Your Business)

I have read many books (a majority of them being grad school textbooks) that only talk about theories. Coming from a non-business background, this book is very basic, easy-to-understand, however very detailed and practical. Highly recommended to beginners!

I am taking Marketing and Management courses and I reserved this book from my schools library, to give me some inspiration and knowledge in writing my papers, but when I opened the cover of this book, I realized this is the perfect book for a business startup, whether it be a home-based business or whatever. What I like about this book is the fact that there are sections throughout the book that are tips and professional advice, notes, checklists, etc. and they are outlined in gray boxes. It really helps break up the information without it all running together. Makes for very easy reading on the eyes. I will be reading this book from cover to cover. If you have a desire to start your own business, but are unsure where to start, then this is the book for you. Excellent read!

This review is from: Business for Beginners: From Research and Business Plans to Money, Marketing and the Law (Quick Start Your Business) (Paperback)
This was one of the first business books I've read (2nd to be specific) and this was one of the most helpful. The only complaint I have which led me to rate this 4 stars and not 5 is because some chapters just hurl information at you too quickly. The law chapter I had to re-read because of all the important info it contained. Besides that everything was great, and even is helpful to those who know the basics. About 9 out of 10 businesses fail within the first 5 years (i think that's the statistic) but if all those people read this book I bet that figure would be dramatically altered. If you want to learn to start a business especially if it's from home this book is for you.
