EE302 - ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT REPAIR provides knowledge and skills on troubleshoot and repair of theelectronics equipment. This course focuses on the identification of faults in audio amplifier, regulated dcpower supply, radio CD player and colour TV receiver. This course also provides knowledge and skill on trouble shoot and repair of the electronic laboratory equipment.

Course Learning Outcome (CLO)
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
  1. Practice how to use hand tools correctly according to safety and occupational health procedures in the laboratory. (C3) 
  2. Operate electronics laboratory test equipment competently as specified by the operating manual. (P1) 
  3. Identify correctly diagnosis and troubleshooting techniques to diagnose fault in electronic circuit. (P3) 
  4. Repair competently dc power supply, audio amplifier, PA system, radio CD player, colour TV receiver and electronic lab equipments using proper troubleshooting technique and test equipment. (P1). 
  Syllabus Contents
  1. HANDTOOLS
    Safety and laboratory procedure, hand tools that are used in troubleshoot and repair activities.
  2. SOLDERING TECHNIQUE
    Type of soldering tools and desoldering tools, soldering technique, good and bad soldering, type of bad soldering.
  3. TESTING EQUIPMENT
    Testing equipment: analogue and digital multimeter, oscilloscope, AF/RF signal generator, transistor tester and colour TV test pattern generator.
  4. DIAGNOGSIS TECHNIQUE
    Process of disassemble and assemble electronic equipment during repair activities. Faults analyzing techniques: visual techniques, injection and tracing techniques, voltages and resistances measurement technique. Testing and identifying the terminals of a passive and active component using test equipment and data sheet.
  5. POWER SUPPLY
    Function of power supply block diagram, power supply circuit diagram, fault in power supply circuit and troubleshoot DC power supply unit.
  6. AUDIO AMPLIFIER
    Principle, operation and troubleshoot of simple audio amplifier. Principle and trouble shoot of PA system.
  7. DOMESTIC ELECTRONICS APPLIANCES
    Basic principle of radio and colour tv receiver: block diagram and function of each block, schematic diagram, identify every stage, signal tracing and injecting techniques, DC voltage and resistances measurement at given test point of radio CD player and colour TV receiver and faulty components replacement.
  8. ELECTRONIC LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS
    Basic principle of audio generator and RF generator: block diagram and function of each block, schematic diagram, signal tracing and injecting technique, DC voltages and resistances measurement at given test point and faulty components replacement.

PB 201, ENTREPRENEURSHIP ENTREPRENEURSHIP focuses the principles and concept of entrepreneurship. This course concentrate on the systematic methods of getting business ideas. This course also prepare the students on ways to conduct and control the business including fundamental of management, marketing and financing. It also emphasize on the preparation of business plan, thus developing their entrepreneurial skills.

Course Learning Outcome
Upon completing this course, students should be able to:
1. explain clearly the concept of entrepreneurship, business ownership and procedures in setting up a business in case study given
2. work cooperatively in group to complete an assign project based on entrepreneurial skills

3. present creatively a business plan prepared via group based on business knowledge
